About our founder:

FunktionUSA was founded in 1995 by John K. Bandimere. Born to an inventor growing up working in his fathers shop on ideas and manufacturing his fathers invention until the age of 21. He left his fathers shop spending the next 12 years in the racing industry working with championship winning teams and working with drivers include Michael Andretti, Tom Sneva, Ed Pimm, Mike Chandler, Chuck Gurney, Geoff Brabham, Chip Robinson, Vern Schuppan, Bill Vukovich jr. 2, Ivan Stuart to name a few.

Working at Plastic Express as chef mechanic on a champ dirt car, National engineering as mechanic on Indy cars, Gurney's All American Racers on the race team traveling and going over the wall during pit stops manning fuel vent and air jack at races including the Indianapolis 500, also machinist, fabricator on Indy cars and IMSA GTO cars, Kraco as machinist on Indy cars, Toyota Racing Developments as machinist, fabricator, designer, engineer on IMSA GTP cars, GTO cars, Toyota atlantic cars, Off road trucks and buggies, and Nissan NPTI in engine development as a designer, prototyping and fabricator on IMSA GTP Cars with four consecutive championships1988 - 1991.

Getting out of the racing industry John started a business selling a harness that controlled dogs from pulling he invented, it made it into Petco and pet stores all over the world. Unable to make a complete living on the harness started a business called Funktion designing and selling point of purchase displays for No Fear, Federated stores, Honda, Hansen's beverage, Ripcurl, Billabong, Troy Lee Designs, liquid Force, La Jolla Club, Shoie Helmets and many more. Some of Funktion's customers started asking John to design products as they saw his creative ability . Enjoying the designing and not the manufacturing John decided to concentrate on his own inventions and help companies and inventors through the product development stages.
